Stefan och Ulla Löfven på galamiddag hos Obama

WASHINGTON. Här festar Stefan Löfven med hollywoodstjärnor, rappare och presidenter.

Barack Obama hälsade välkommen – med ett vikingaskämt.

– Hoppas bordskicket blivit bättre sedan dess, sa han och höjde en skål.

Det skrattades, skämtades och hölls tal när de 400 inbjudna gästerna festade hos värdparet Barack och Michelle Obama.

Festen hölls i Vita husets trädgård, i ett tält med genomskinligt tak och gnistrande lampor som skapade känslan av en stjärnhimmel. Utanför hade alla träd belysts och från trädgårdens fontän hördes ett stilla porlande.

Borden var dukade i svala färger som var avsedda att efterlikna det nordiska ljuset och också presidenten själv påminde om Norden, i ett tal som svepte över den brutala vikingatiden till hur han ser länderna som ett fredligt föredöme i dag.

Glittrande gäster

Flera av damerna på gästlistan glittrade i kapp med glasdekorationerna som skulle se ut som iskristall. Michelle Obama var sobert elegant i en beige långklänning med bara axlar och statsminister Stefan Löfvens hustru Ulla var tjusig i ceriserosa långkjol och mönstrad överdel. Deras makar var båda klädda i smoking.

Många av gästerna var personer ur de delegationer som träffats för toppmöte, alltså från länderna Sverige, Finland, Norge, Danmark och Island samt USA. Utöver dessa fanns också en rad riktigt stora stjärnor.

”House of Cards”-skådis

Några av de mest kända på inbjudningslistan var personer med svenskkoppling, däribland svenske skådisen Joel Kinnaman, presidentutmanare i tv-succén ”House of Cards” som utspelar sig i och omkring Washington. Dessutom den tidigare talkshow-värden David Letterman som ofta visat ett stort intresse för Sverige och Will Ferrell, skådespelare som är gift med svenskan Viveca Paulin.

Andra som kan nämnas är ståupparen Aziz Anzari, sångerskan Janelle Monáe och rapparen Common. Även ”Twin Peaks”-skådisen Kyle MacLachlan som var medföljare till sin hustru, tv-producenten Desiree Gruber, och kosmetikföretagaren Bobbi Brown.

Kanapéer och revbensspjäll

Det bjöds på allehanda maträtter, allt ifrån små kanapéer fyllda med kyckling till långkokt och rödvinsmarinerat revben och dumplings med smak av timjan.

Desserten bestod av flera olika delar där kronan på verket var en fiskebåt av choklad och dekorationspasta av florsocker.
